What the mechanical logic trait is not
It is not a measure of the person's logic abilities. Consequently, a strong reading here says nothing about general reasoning, and a weak one says nothing either, which makes this the one trait in the group that stands apart from the rest.

Four questions produce a score from 0 to 100 across six named ranges, and the summary elsewhere gives four on the People and Logic Test with five on the IC Aptitude version. Note that the poor and borderline ranges both claim 38, so the middle band below overlaps the low one.
Three published quirks travel with this number, and all three stay exactly as issued. Five answers per question put the guessing floor at roughly 20, and only four questions produce the score, so a single answer moves it a long way. The ranges themselves overlap and gap: 38 belongs to both the poor range and the borderline range, while 25 belongs to neither Low nor Poor. Read a 25 as low, confirm a 38 with a practical test, and treat 66 as the point where Good becomes very good.
