Automated Online Reference Checks: A Review and Empirical Investigation

ABSTRACT
Automated Online Reference Checks (AORCs) are a new, standardized reference check tool. To investigate the utility of AORCs, we addressed a series of research questions using data from an AORC system. Supervisors gave the most critical references, no sex biases were present, and the
qualitative and quantitative ratings shared a positive relation.
